Interesting take on this tragic situation. I have no opinion on the prosecutors or the sentence. I am curious what we will learn about the extent of knowledge within the franchise. It does not seem plausible that no one within the organization knew about some of these addictions, relationships or even arrangements. An MLB team spends months on the road with maybe 40 people interacting every day. What was that term we often heard from investigative reporters, β€œIt goes up higher than you think.”

Good points. It goes much broader, too. Baseball has had two major drug scandals. One recreational (coke in 1980s) and one vocational (PEDs). These pills check both boxes. I wouldn't be surprised if every team has a problem with this.
